About the Designer
Kristine Bukov

My background in Interior Design, combined with formal training in Landscape Design, has been invaluable in creating outdoor spaces that are both beautiful and highly functional. After earning my Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, I went on to complete a certificate in Landscape Design at Portland Community College in 2004. During that time, I also worked at a local nursery, gaining hands-on knowledge of regional plants and learning how to select the right plant for the right place—an approach that continues to guide my work today.
While still in Portland, OR, in 2006, I launched my first landscape design business Green Leaf Design, LLC. Over the next six years, I developed strong relationships with landscape contractors, tradespeople, and industry professionals throughout the area. These partnerships gave me valuable experience in landscape construction, hardscape installation, and the practical details that bring a design from concept to completion.
Following my time with Green Leaf Design, I joined two landscape companies I had previously collaborated with. These roles deepened my experience in working with crews, estimating and bidding projects, managing installations, sourcing materials, and overseeing construction. They also strengthened my ability to design spaces that are not only creative and personalized, but realistic to build.
In 2015, I took a hiatus from landscape design to start my family and relocate to Colorado. In 2021, I began immersing myself in the Colorado landscape industry, learning the unique climate, plant palette, and design considerations of the region. I was thrilled to officially launch Petal + Patio Landscape Design in 2023, bringing together years of design experience, construction knowledge, and a passion for creating outdoor spaces tailored to each client.
